Artem was once home to many brilliant artists such as Magnus Cornwall and Nate Murphy, who started a cultural renaissance for America. The area that was once famous for its beauty sadly has become more and more rundown as time has gone by. Jordan Kirchner owner of Penicilla Warehouse Co had set out to reinvigorate the artistic scene of his hometown. Jordan began funding nearby art studios, but despite their relative success, he found that he was only honing existing artists' capabilities rather than creating a new generation. He was running out of funds to further expand the art scene so rather than look outward, he looked inward to what he already had: a warehouse company, a handful of art studios, and a plethora of students ready to share their artwork with the world. It quickly became obvious to him what he should do next, he announced to his artists he wanted to create an art gallery in his warehouse, and they titled it Artists of Artem County.
The first gathering was a huge success gaining a large audience, and this was followed by an increase in students joining the various studios he funded. This success allowed Jordan to fund the event again the following year. This time around, however, one of the students asked if their younger sister who was not part of the studio could feature her art. This gave Jordan the idea to further expand to allow anyone to add to their gallery. The event once again was a major success as the people of Artem were excited to display their artwork. Businesses near the event found that the gathering brought them more customers, so they urged Jordan to continue the gallery as a new tradition, with some even helping fund the event. His dream had finally come true: the event he created had brought Artem’s art back into the spotlight, leading him to continue and improve the event over the years, of course leading to Artists of Artem County 2023.
